Looking for a Career That Loves You Back?

There is a wide variety of career paths in the long-term care industry and the communities of Augustana Care and Elim Care (Cassia) are looking to fill jobs in high demand positions. Our recruiting team is working hard on different ways of attracting, hiring, and retraining qualified nurses – both now and in the years to come.

At Cassia, we recognize the need for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and collectively are pushing to fulfill that need. The CNA position offers room to grow and many will move into a Trained Medical Aide (TMA) position or go to school for a nursing degree and become a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or a Registered Nurse (RN). Certified Nursing Assistant positions are currently available at our various communities in full-time, part-time or even on-call situations. 

One of the many approaches that we have been using his hiring international nurses. These individuals will arrive in the coming months with a minimum of two years of RN experience in a “westernized medicine” setting, a current RN license, solid English skills, and a multi-year commitment to work with Cassia. Most of these nurses have been or will be hired by corporate QA and HR from countries that employ nurses from around the world. Other RNs have been hired here in the United States while on a temporary Visa, seeking to make that status permanent. 

Our team has also been utilizing a highly trusted, quality product from the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation called OnTrack. With a mission to transform and enhance the experience of aging, LeadingAge Minnesota is the largest association of organizations serving Minnesota seniors.

OnTrack is a new training program developed in Minnesota that is exclusively designed and used to train nursing assistants in aging services. This online curriculum is interactive and person-centered, created to elevate the adult learner.

Many of our sites, including Milaca, Moose Lake, Hastings, and Minneapolis, encourage onsite CNA training. Other communities work closely with Anoka Tech College to have training near their campus. Some of the sites pay for the training on behalf of the employee, where others reimburse the employee for training after 90 days.
