Occupational Therapist Theresa Klein and Chaplain Alex Treitler present their work at Emerald Crest by Augustana Care, an assisted living community for individuals with memory loss. Throughout its 15 years in existence, Emerald Crest’s innovative and holistic model of care has been shown to help decrease anxiety-based behaviors like pacing, wandering, and hoarding. In addition, it has helped residents stabilize at a given level of cognitive functioning and, according to several measures, helped improve residents' overall quality of life.
