Augustana Care Principles

Augustana Care is a non-profit organization that provides housing, health care and community-based services to older generations and others in need—and helps residents live the lives that most inspire them.

The principles that guide our work are as follows:

  • To value older generations’ talents and experience

  • To provide the care residents need, when and where they need it

  • To connect residents to the people and things that mean the most to them

  • To support residents and families with spiritual care that speaks to who they are

SHARE at Augustana Care

Augustana Care’s customer service program is called SHARE—an acronym for Serve, Honor, Anticipate, Relate, and Empower:

  • Serve—focused on service, resident or client needs

  • Honor—Respect all others, personalize care, know the Augustana Care tradition of caring.  Focused on respecting those we serve and coworkers

  • Anticipate—Focused on empathy, understanding and compassion

  • Relate—Focused on positive verbal and nonverbal communication with coworkers and those we serve

  • Empower—Focused on encouraging residents to participate in their plan of care
